This programme is aimed at those working in or considering a career in business. The programme builds on learning obtained in the Higher Certificate in Business (Level 6 NFQ) and focuses on the practical skills and knowledge required to enhance performance in a business environment. Students will acquire the broad business skills that will enable them to obtain employment across a wide range of business environments at administrative or junior management entry level.

The programme is delivered online over one year. It consists of seven modules – four in semester one and three in semester two (including a dissertation). Modules are delivered online by professionally qualified and experienced business lecturers and cover the following business functions:

  • People Management
  • Business Information Systems
  • Financial Management and Control
  • Management
  • Economics

Please note that modules may change for your year of entry. The exact modules available and their order may vary depending on student demand and course updates.

Students will also have the opportunity to complete a minor dissertation which is preceded by research methods seminars.

The programme includes a significant amount of ongoing on-line assessment in each of the modules and for final written examinations students may have to attend at the ATU campus through which they completed their studies. For some programmes it may be possible for the Exam to be taken remotely via online proctoring. ATU Students resident in the Republic of Ireland will be invited to attend exams at an exam centre located in Ireland. Students resident outside of Ireland or with exceptional circumstances may be eligible to attend remotely via online proctoring, where examinations are taken online and supervised virtually, subject to availability.
