Mitochondrial Biology and Radiation Research
MBRR researchers have a strong track record in Mitochondrial Biology as well as Radiation Biology. Ongoing research funded by Science Foundation Ireland includes determining subtle changes in mitochondrial dynamics, as well as mitochondrial function and mitochondrial DNA in skin cells following low-level, sub-lethal simulated sunlight exposure. In addition, research is being funded by the Radiowave Therapy Research Institute (Western Australia) into the bio-effects of high-frequency radiowaves.
