Applicants with FETAC Qualifications

In order to be considered for admission to your chosen course, you must meet the points and entry requirements for your chosen course.

Entry points:

Entry points based on FETAC qualifications are calculated on the best 8 modules in a full FETAC award.  For modules with a credit value of 1 (FETAC Level 5), scores are awarded as follows:

Distinction     50 points

Merit               35 points

Pass               20 points

Entry requirements:

Higher Certificate (L6) or Ordinary Degree (L7)

• FETAC Level 5 award

Honours Degree (L8)

• FETAC Level 5 award in a related area and 3 distinctions

Most courses at IT Sligo have a set standard of mathematics as an entry requirement.  This requirement can be met by one of the following:

• A pass in Leaving Certificate Mathematics (ordinary or higher level)
• Leaving Certificate Foundation Mathematics B2 or above for entry into courses in the Schools of Business and Science
• A pass in FETAC Level 5 Mathematics Module
