The Chaplain’s Office & The Sanctuary

1st Floor, Student Services Centre

The Chaplain’s Office is located on the first floor of the Student Services Centre beside the Careers Office, above the Student’s Union and the Health Service.

The primary function of Chaplaincy is the pastoral care of students and staff members, especially at times of illness or bereavement. Chaplaincy are also concerned with the support of students in their personal growth during their time at the Institute. The full-time chaplain is especially available for those times when you might need someone to listen to you. Feel free to drop in to the office for a cuppa and a chat, or to make use of the silent space of the Sanctuary.

The Sanctuary is the Institute prayer room and is open at all times for students and staff to escape from the rush of life and create a space for quiet reflection.  Scheduled prayer times include:

You might need some quiet time or some space, so feel free to drop into the sanctuary, the Institute Prayer Room, in the Student Centre where we celebrate Mass and other prayer services.

Faith/Spiritual Development – The Chaplaincy encourages and supports your spiritual growth not only through prayer but through faith development initiatives such as Alpha and the annual student Lenten retreat.
