Prayer & reflection

The Sanctuary is the institute quiet room, located in the Student Centre, where you can get away from the stresses of college life and get some quiet time to yourself. The Sanctuary is open to students of all faiths and no faith! Here you can pray, reflect or simply chill out!

Prayer services include

Daily Mass:

• Monday/Thursday/Friday 1:05 – 1:25pm
• Tuesday & Wednesday 8:45 – 9:05am (Over before the beginning of the 9 am lecture!)

Large Liturgies and Special Masses:

Large prayer services are held in the Aula Maxima for the opening of the year and Ash Wednesday. Two more special liturgies are held throughout the year, the November mass for the dead and the end of year exam mass. In addition, special occasion masses, also sick and memorial masses are held in the Institute throughout the year.

Meditation:

Monday & Thursday 1:30 – 1:50pm (Brief introduction of the practice is given beforehand at 1:25pm)

Prayer Meeting:

Wednesday 7:00 – 8:00 pm – This is led by the St. Michael’s Youth 2000 group from Sligo. (Including: Exposition of the Blessed Eucharist, Hymns, Rosary, Gospel for the following Sunday, sharing on the gospel, Prayers of Intercession and Closing Prayer, followed by Tea and Biscuits!!)
