Upon completion of our Social Studies degree graduates often work with people experiencing crisis or people who are socially excluded. Evidence suggests that fine art graduates enter a very broad range of careers. Only a small number become practicing artists on a full time basis and most of these continue studying either full-time or part-time. Some enter directly related work such as arts administration, museum and gallery work, or art teaching. However, many fine artists take up part-time teaching in further or higher education, often to support their practice. Some fine art graduates enter other art and design careers in the longer term and may become graphic designers, illustrators or work in fashion and textiles.

Design consultancies are normally small firms employing up to about six designers.
