Registration Declaration
On registration in this Institute students will be required to sign the following declarations:

“I certify all the above information to be accurate and I agree to be bound by all Institute, Computer Use Policy and Examination Regulations. I hereby agree that the Institute may provide data on me to government departments (e.g. Department of Education and Science and Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs), employers or professional bodies and other third parties and may use my photograph in publication of the Institute, where the Institute judges this to be in the best interest of either myself or the Institute”.

Students with Criminal Convictions
A student with a criminal conviction should note that his/her conviction could affect his/her ability to secure placement on relevant courses. As a result the Institute accepts no responsibility for students who are unable to complete their studies. Students with Criminal Convictions on SG233 – National Diploma in Applied Social Studies in Social care. A student with a criminal conviction should note that his/her conviction affects his/her ability to secure placement on this course and as a result he/she is strongly advised not to apply for this course as the Institute accepts no responsibility if he/she is unable to complete his/her studies.

Transfer
The Institute’s Higher Certificate and Ordinary Degree qualifications are designed to be terminal qualifications and to prepare people for employment. However, a significant number of students use these qualifications to transfer to Ordinary Degree or Honours Degree Courses in the Institute of Technology, Sligo and other Institutes of Technology and Universities. Students should be aware that the decision to admit transfers is totally at the discretion of the receiving institution. The V.E.C. Scholarship and Local Authority Higher Education Grant regulations facilitate such transfers within the State. See our Application Guide for further details.

International Office
The Institute has formal articulation agreements with a large number of colleges both nationally and internationally, facilitating movement of students between partner colleges. There is a strong cosmopolitan, multicultural feel to the Institute. Students from every county in the Republic of Ireland rub shoulders with other students from Northern Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, U.K., Belgium, Netherlands, Greece, Sweden, Finland, Japan, Austria, USA, Colombia, Somalia, South Africa and Iran. The Institute of Technology, Sligo also runs Summer courses in English for students from aged 15 upwards. General English courses are offered plus afternoon activities and host family accommodation (full board). Courses start on 1st week in July and end mid September. Nationalities attending include Spanish, Japanese, Italian, German and Hungarian. Lifelong Learning
The Institute run a series of part-time evening courses in Business and Humanities, Engineering and Science. Courses are advertised each year in the local newspapers and details of Lifelong Learning Courses can be obtained fromhe Lifelong Learning Office at 071-9137214
