The 2011 Sociological Association of Ireland’s Postgraduate Conference will be held at IT Sligo on December 1st and 2nd.
Twenty one postgraduate students will present at the conference on issues ranging from Ethnicity and Migration to Criminology and Sustainability. The annual event provides an opportunity for postgraduates to showcase their research and to network with fellow research students from across Ireland.
A theme of this year’s conference is publishing and the two day event will include a panel discussion on Publishing and a Plenary Paper by Dr Kate Kenny from the NUI, Galway on Academic Publishing.
The conference is being organised by the postgraduate students from the Department of Humanities at IT Sligo and will be held in Hume Hall.
The Sociological Association of Ireland was founded in 1973 and there are more than 100 members in the association from a variety of backgrounds, including postgraduate students, lecturers, civil servants and social researchers.
