LED lighting – Strand Campus – Co. Sligo
Strand Campus is an innovative enterprise space located in Strandhill, Co. Sligo. It offers SMEs and individuals access to office space, hot desk space, meeting space, a mail drop service and networking opportunities. The centre is a key piece of enterprise incubation infrastructure in Co. Sligo and a place where businesses and start-ups can reside and grow in a collaborative space with like-minded peers. The shared working area provides a location for individuals to work remotely. Shortly a gaming hub will be opened at the campus boosting the campus’s offering.
The Atlantic Technological University Contract Research Unit (ATU CRU) carried out a review of the energy bills and an inspection of the Campus. The campus was built in the 1990s and could benefit from significant retrofitting. Specifically, roof & wall insulation, heat pump/s to replace the oil boiler, glazing and solar PV should be considered.
The Lower Carbon Lower Cost initiative funded an internal and external lighting upgrade. 72W 600 SQ fluorescent luminaires were replaced with 28W 600 SQ LED panels.
