Hodgson Moore appoints Real Madrid physiologist

HDr  Carlos Gonz ález Haroodgson Moore Pathology Services, a company based in IT Sligo’s Innovation Centre announced that they have appointed former Real Madrid first team Sport Scientist, Dr. Carlos González Haro, as their lead physiologist.

Hodgson Moore Pathology Services facilitate advanced blood testing for elite athletes, including multiple Olympic and World Champions and professional sports teams, to help them to perform at the highest possible level.  Their analysis helps to reduce training days lost to illness and infection; accelerate recovery from key workouts and competition / matches and protect athletes from fatigue as a consequence of overtraining.

Dr.González Haro is a vastly experienced, high performance sport scientist who has worked as an applied physiologist at the Olympic Training Centre in Barcelona, the Real Madrid First Team in the 2008/09 seasons and most recently as team physiologist for the Garmin Slipstream Pro Cycling team.
Dr.González Haro commented: “One of my main professional goals is the application of evidence based scientific knowledge for elite and professional athletes. By applying cutting edge analysis techniques it is possible to increase performance, reduce injury rates, and accelerate player / athlete recovery. Announcing the appointment of Dr. González, Dr. Brian Moore said: “One of the most difficult elements of competing at world class level is the balance between training hard to improve whilst ensuring adequate recovery. We have developed novel applications to find objective markers in the blood to help guide athletes, coaches and team physicians in how to find that balance and protect their athletes from overtraining”.
