IT Sligo provides a flexible environment of academic excellence and career focussed learning and is the leading provider of online courses in Ireland with 1,800 students from 23 countries around the world.

The Governing Body of IT Sligo now seeks to appoint a President who will provide the strategic leadership and management expertise to ensure the Institute’s continuing development in the changing landscape of education provision.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader with drive and determination to shape the future direction of IT Sligo and lead it to the establishment of a Technological University. The President will strengthen the Institute’s position as a creative, collaborative, entrepreneurial and inclusive force in the region, and will enrich all aspects of the student experience.

As the ideal candidate you will:

  • Be an inspiring leader with the ability to create and communicate a compelling vision and strategy
  • Engage with and influence a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, and be an outstanding ambassador for the Institute
  • Have a proven track record of achievement at a senior level in higher education, research, industry, business or public sector 
  • Have a strong academic reputation, holding a PhD.
