IT Sligo In New Education Partnership With Georgian College

Institute of Technology, Sligo has signed a comprehensive and ground-breaking memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Georgian College in Canada, which will provide a new pathway to a degree qualification for a range of the Canadian institution’s diploma programmes.

The new partnership will enable Canadian students who are studying a range of diploma courses at Georgian College, to have a clearly defined route towards a degree award from IT Sligo.

The new IT Sligo collaboration builds on a growing series of collaborations between the Institute and Canadian third level institutions which have paved the way for student and faculty exchanges over the last five years.

Georgian College is one of 24 publicly funded Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology in Ontario. Georgian’s leadership in co-op, student work experience and entrepreneurship education delivers powerful ways to accelerate your learning, your career and your future. With more than 125 career-focused programs across seven locations in Central Ontario,  Georgian has 11,000 full-time students and is home to the one-of-a-kind University Partnership Centre. Georgian has been named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers seven times and one of Canada’s Greenest Employers five times.

Welcoming this latest Canadian partnership, Patrick Lynch, International Manager at IT Sligo said: “We are delighted to expand our extensive Colleges Ontario institutional partnerships to include Georgian College.”

“Our partnership provides flexible, full credit transfer, degree completion pathways (full-time and on-line) to Diploma and Advanced Diploma students in a wide variety of subject areas.”

Applicants can apply for admission to the relevant IT Sligo degree program via our local representatives, KOM Consultants, based in Hamilton, Ontario. Their services are free of charge to interested student applicants.

Kevin Weaver, Georgian College Vice President, International, Workforce Development and Partnerships said the partnership will bring valuable benefits to Georgian grads.
