Background

To what extent is local Business benefiting due to the existence of the IT Sligo ? Are companies encouraged by the fact that the IT can provide the graduates and expertise to enable them to establish and expand their businesses ?

To what extent does the existence of IT Sligo attract foreign investment and businesses into the area; are they even aware of its existence and what it has to offer ?

Does the government recognise the economic benefits that IT Sligo has to provide the region and does it take this into consideration when providing funds for developing the regions infrastructure.

In the past, the region has always suffered from a high degree of emigration, due to the lack of either local educational or employment opportunities. To what extent has the growth of the RTC/IT reduced this trend ?

The question if symbiotic relationship between the Institute and the Economy, to what extent does on influence the other.

– Economy affected by the Institute but also the Institute dictating the Economy.
