President of Ireland, Mary McAleese will visit IT Sligo on October 5th, 2010 to conduct the official inauguration of its new Yeats Library. Dr Martin McAleese will also attend.
The library is part of a €12million development programme underway at the college which also includes extensions to its technology building and sports facilities.
The new Yeats Library has been almost doubled in size, from 1,882 m2 to 3,128 m2, and includes an additional floor. It has been designed to meet the needs of the next generation of learners and features include a social learning and project areas, 13 seminar rooms, and 644 seats with power and network coverage.
The visit from President Mary McAleese coincides with the 40th anniversary of IT Sligo.
