Over the past few days we have all been deeply shocked and appalled at the unspeakable crimes committed in Sligo. Atlantic Technological University extends sincere sympathies to the families of Aidan Moffitt and Michael Snee.
The extreme nature of these violent deaths highlights the threat to our LGBTQI+ community. For decades they have lived with exclusion, intimidation, violence and even murder. Despite this continuous threat on their community, they have taught all of society that love will always conquer hate. We are all shocked at how these beautiful lives were taken from us and our community is a darker place today because of these senseless and barbaric actions. Now, we must support our LGBTQI+ community through these dark days.
We ask that all in ATU and beyond come together at this time and unite against all forms of hate and encourage you to join in the Sligo Pride Vigil this Friday 15th April at 6pm at Sligo Town Hall.

Donegal: Buncrana, Saturday 16th April 2pm (Amazing Grace area of shoreline)
Mayo: Castlebar, Saturday 16th at 7pm in Market Square
Leitrim: Carrick on Shannon Monday 18th April at 6pm by the clock
