Seven IT Sligo Accounting students have secured full-time employment prior to commencing their final year examinations.
Claire Frain, Ruth McGarrigle, Ann-Marie Cogan, Maria Morrison, Fergal O’Hanlon, Chris Corcoran and Michael Conway are all final year BA (Hons) in Accounting students (Course code: SG146).
The three-year programme is a fast-track to qualification as an accountant. It has obtained maximum exemptions from the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
According to the Institute’s BA (Hons) in Accounting Programme Chair, John Gaynor, the employment take-up among final year students is a strong endorsement of the course’s national reputation.
“It is wonderful to see our students securing employment contracts with such a wide range of accountancy firms,” he said. “The BA (Hons) offers a clearly-defined career path with excellent employment prospects and our graduates can complete the professional exams with the requisite training in three years.”
The BA (Hons) in Accounting also attracts generous exemptions from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and from Certified Public Accountants.
