Accommodation

Students of the Summer School will be housed in shared (sleeping up to 4) apartments with separate bedrooms and shared bathroom, living room and kitchen. The campus is located a 10 minute walk from town centre with access to shopping, pubs and restaurants. Learn More about accommodation and campus facilities.

Other activities

Sligo is the largest town in the northwest of Ireland and is nestled between the dramatic mountains of Knocknarea and Benbulben on the Atlantic coast. Sligo is a centre for traditional and contemporary music, with live music almost every night of the week, theatre and literature as the home and of William Butler Yeats. The Sligo coastline, a mixture of rugged rocks and long sandy beaches, is a major international centre for surfing, with some of the biggest waves in Europe off Mullaghmore.

On the weekends, students will have a range of options for excursions and adventures, whether is be lazing at the beach, on a surf board, a bicycle or a cosy pub. Travelling the Wild Atlantic Way, the beautiful neighbouring counties of Donegal to the north and Mayo to the south, are only short bus rides away. Other activities include sailing, golfing, hill walking, sea kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, horseback riding and fishing.

Travel

Sligo is located 2.5 to 3 hours from Dublin by car, rail or bus. Most international carriers fly direct into Dublin. A reasonably priced shuttle service from the airport will deliver you to the bus or train station, from which you will have a number of options for getting to Sligo.
