Two of IT Sligo’s Interior Architecture graduates have come together to launch House Edita new shoppable interiors platform.

House Edit, will provide content on the latest trends in interior design and home wares while allowing shoppers to buy the items they see immediately.

The contemporary stylish platform — which goes live on September 5 — will have an emphasis on affordable interior design and will bring high-street brands, some relatively unknown in the Irish market, together on one site.

The two women behind House Edit are Interior Architects, Claire Price and Elaine Regan. The two are uniquely placed to give readers insights into the hottest, affordable trends in interiors.

Members of the public will be able to instantly ask the experts questions on all their interior dilemmas – and get free advice from interior designers within hours.

Both Claire and Elaine studied architectural design, interior architecture and interior design before gaining experience in Italy, London, Dublin and the North West of Ireland.

Having met in college, the young, creative designers gained extensive experience before setting up their own interior design studio in Sligo.

While working in the industry, the two believed there was a gap in the market for House Edit — a free digital platform, which would inspire with shoppable content on interiors, allowing visitors to immediately buy the products they see.

“Today consumers are part of a new media-driven world. They want to be able to make instant decisions and instant choices. That’s exactly what they will be able to do with House Edit,” says co-founder Claire Price.

“The aim of House Edit is to bring our expertise to our audience, making affordable design accessible and enabling readers to have the confidence to style their own homes.”

As well as design advice from its founders, House Edit will include guest articles by other inspiring design experts, including Leonie Cornelius (Blume) and Georgia Metcalfe (The French Bedroom Company).

Lifestyle and business issues will also be covered on the website, including insights from high-profile business women such as designer and Super Garden judge, Roisin Lafferty; milliner and fashion blogger Jennifer Wrynn and Carol-Anne Leyden of CA Design.

“House Edit is going to change the way people shop online for home wares, bringing together high-street brands of a similar design philosophy, some of which are relatively unknown to the Irish market. It will be the ‘go-to’ site for interior sourcing, design and lifestyle inspiration,” says co-founder Elaine Regan.

“Having worked in the industry for a number of years, we are perfectly placed to bring the latest trends and design expertise to the public. We want to give everyone the opportunity to afford and access a beautifully-furnished home.”

The new business is based in Sligo and goes live at houseedit.ie on September 5.
