The purpose and scope of this research is to investigate tourism education in Ireland. An analysis of the provision of third level tourism education in Ireland, focusing on the needs of the public, private and voluntary sectors.
Due to the diversity and nature of the tourism industry the success of this study will be dependent on an extensive and proficient approach to the collection both qualitative and quantitative material.
A representative and balanced research approach will be utilized to ensure all sectors within the tourism community are included.

- To develop recommendations and strategies to ensure adequate, sustainable and a well balanced level of tourism education in Ireland for the future.
