IT Sligo 50th Anniversary – All Ireland Art Competition for Primary and Secondary School Students
To Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of IT Sligo in 2020 and the launch of a new academic department Yeats Academy in Art, Design and Architecture, IT Sligo is launching an art competition for April and May 2020. School children all around Ireland can enter. One entry per person. Participants must declare what age category they are in and all creations must be genuinely completed by the student.
Choose from one of three themes:
- A Famous Irish Person
- An Irish Animal
- A Place on the Wild Atlantic Way
Medium: Fine Art, Picture, Textile, Photography, collage, any medium is allowed as is the use of visual aids from photographs, newspaper cuttings etc
Age categories:
Category 1: 7 – 9yrs old
Category 2: 10 – 12yrs old
Category 3: 12 – 15yrs old
Category 4: 16 – 18yrs old
How to Enter: Please take a clear picture of your artwork and attach it to an e-mail to marketing@nullitsligo.ie before the 29 May 2020 and it is important you include the following information in the e-mail:
- On which of the three Themes your art is based
- Title of the piece
- Your Name
- Your Age
- Name and address of Your School
- Your Home Address
- Your Parent/Guardian mobile number
Closing Date: 29th May 2020
Prizes:
There is a First and Second Prize for each of the four age categories
First Prize:
- a €50 book voucher for the winning entry from each of the four age categories
- plus a €200 voucher for Art materials for their school
- plus your artwork will be professional framed and will hang in the reception of IT Sligo
- plus your artwork will feature in the Annual Creative Showcase
Second Prize:
- a €40 book voucher for the winning entry from each of the four age categories
