Business students studying German in IT Sligo are just back from an exchange with German students at Fachhochschule Brandenburg (Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences)

The partner students provided accommodation and gave the Irish students a unique opportunity to  sample German student life, attend lectures and speak German over the three days.

The students made a successful presentation about themselves and IT Sligo to a German class in Fachhochschule Brandenburg, which was counted as part of continuous assessment for their German course.

The students visited two local industries Rapid Eye in Brandenburg  and Daimler Benz in Berlin. Executives from both companies provided an overview and a tour of their respective companies, giving students a unique insight into business life in the area.

Lecturers Joan Morrison and Deborah Keegan organised and accompanied the students on this study trip.

IT Sligo has strong links with more than 20 colleges across Europe. This exchange is part of ongoing efforts to maintain these links, to reinforce language learning at IT Sligo and to encourage students to take part in the year abroad option.
