As more than 52,000 students consider their first round CAO offers, IT Sligo is hosting drop-in clinics on August 21st and 28th, from 10am-4pm, for school leavers who are weighing up the Institute as their third level choice.
This events will provide valuable insights for prospective students, particularly final year Leaving Certificate students on all aspects of IT Sligo’s academic and living experience.
Students and their families will have the opportunity to take a tour of the IT Sligo campus and get meaningful advice on grants, accommodation, as well finding out more about Sligo as a place to live and learn in.
The organisers say the drop-in clinics will be of benefit both for students who are already committed to coming to IT Sligo and others who may still be uncertain about their choices.
“I recommend that students find out as much as possible about their preferred course and about the college they have chosen before they accept their CAO offer.” says Gerry Hegarty who is Student Affairs Manager at IT Sligo.
“If you haven’t been offered your first choice, don’t panic,” he adds. “There are several other options open to you. The most important thing is that you follow your heart – and pick the course that is best suited to you.”
IT Sligo’s courses span its three Departments — Business and Social Sciences; Engineering and Design; Science. They include diverse subjects such as accounting, international marketing and sales, civil engineering, software development, biomedical science, performing arts, event management, social care, interior architecture, forensic investigation, recreation and leisure and tourism management.
The CAO drop-in clinics at IT Sligo will run from 10am to 4pm on both days.. They will also provide an opportunity for students to get information on the Institute’s programmes which still have places available for the 2015/16 academic year.
The available course places at IT Sligo can be viewed on the CAO website.
