Course Summary

This is a specialised Honours Degree programme with a heavy emphasis on the academic aspects of business modules. It is aimed at business professionals who wish to formalise their learning with a national Honours Degree qualification. It is delivered online over a two-year period. This programme provides upskilling for those involved in any aspect of business, particularly in the areas of management, marketing, supply chain, eBusiness and finance.

Important: Modules are delivered over the two years of the programme. Students complete 2-3 modules or 15 credits per semester. Please note that this programme is designed to allow new students to enter every year. This means that modules are delivered every second year. Most students complete the programme within the 2-year timeframe. However, if you need to defer part of the course, you will not be able to take the module(s) again until it is running in the designated year. For example, modules running in 2021/22 will not run again until 2023/24.

Please refer to the Course format tab for a list of the modules on the programme.

Key Course Information

Whether you are studying part-time online, blended or full-time online, it is very important that you allocate enough study time to your online course to stay focused, reduce stress and achieve your goals.

For this programme, Live Lectures normally take on two evenings each week for 1-2 hours between 6pm and 10pm, Monday to Thursday but this may vary depending on the availability of specific lecturers. Live Lectures will be timetabled for the same time slot each week. If the Live Classroom scheduled times for the live online lectures do not suit you, recordings will be made available through Moodle (our online learning platform).

Regarding the Study Hours that students should set aside for this course, this can vary by semester but approximately recommends a total of 10-12 hours of both live lecture and independent learning per week.

Students will be assessed through a mix of multiple-choice quizzes, practical assessments, and final exams. For Examinations, students may have to attend at the ATU campus through which they completed their studies. For some programmes it may be possible for the Exam to be taken remotely via online proctoring. ATU Students resident in the Republic of Ireland will be invited to attend exams at an exam centre located in Ireland. Students resident outside of Ireland or with exceptional circumstances may be eligible to attend remotely via online proctoring, where examinations are taken online and supervised virtually, subject to availability.

Typically, the Moodle page for this programme will have module information, lecture notes and recordings links, additional reading resources, assignment briefs and links for submitting assessments.
