Course Summary
This part-time, online course in Certificate Award in Safety and Health Representation (Level 6) is specifically designed to provide Safety Representatives with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their function effectively and complies with the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) Guidelines on Safety Representatives and Safety Consultation. This course is a 12-week course, delivered through online lectures and resource materials using Moodle (our online learning environment).

Key Course Information
Live Lectures: Typically lectures occur online one evening per week for approximately two hours, with opportunities to ask questions and interact similar to a real classroom experience. Alternatively, the live recordings can be accessed for repeat viewing at any time. Participants require a broadband service to access the material and participate on the course. There is no on-campus attendance required for this course.
Study Hours: Whether you are studying part-time online, blended or full-time online, it is very important that you allocate enough study time to your online course to stay focused, reduce stress and achieve your goals. For part-time online or blended learning, it is recommended that you should try to allow for 5-6 hours per week per 5 credit module to your studies. As well as live lecturers, you must allocate time for independent learning, communicating with your lecturers and classmates and carrying out assignments.
Assignments/Examinations: Assessments are completed online during the course with progress closely monitored and supported by the academic team

Graduates will be qualified to act as a Health and Safety Representative.
Further Study
Holders of this minor award in Health and Safety Representation will be eligible for a module exemption on the Level 6 Higher Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health Online.
