Self-Advocacy for autistic students in Higher Education

AsIAm will deliver a 1-hour session about Self Advocacy for autistic students in Higher Education. This session will discuss the importance of knowing your rights, identifying your available supports and learning how to apply self-advocacy skills in higher education. When students are attending this session, there is no expectation that participants are to have their cameras on.

Topics that will be covered during the student Self- Advocacy training workshop include:

• Defining self-advocacy and Disclosure
• Asking for reasonable accommodations
• Learning to Self-advocate
• Applying Self-Advocacy and Disclosure skills in Higher Education
• Identifying your own strengths
• Question and Answers
