IT Sligo’s senior gaelic footballers begin their 2017 Connacht FBD League campaign this Sunday (Jan 8th) when they take on Roscommon in Boyle at 2pm.
The Institute, who are managed by Padraig McGourty are in Section A which also includes All-Ireland finalists Mayo and NUI Galway.
The students second group game will be away to Mayo on January 15th and their sole home match will be on January 22nd against NUIG.
The teams in Section B are: Galway (holders), Leitrim, Sligo and GMIT.
The winners of each section will qualify for the final.
The Institute’s participation in the Connacht FBD League will be in preparation for the Preliminary round of the Higher Education Sigerson Cup on January 27th when IT Sligo travel to Galway to play GMIT. The winners of that game will face the Sigerson Cup holders UCD in the first round proper.
