IT Sligo graduate Patrick Clarke, is fulfilling a dream this week as he wears a national county jersey in the 2010 FBD RÁS. A graduate of Recreation and Leisure Management, IT Sligo, since graduating in November of 2009 he has a pursuing a career as a fulltime cyclist.
Clarke is making a huge impact in the sport and his fine form in the colours of Castlebar Cycling Club has earned him the callup from national selectors. The young racer has been competing since he was 14 and won two national titles as he progressed through the grades, which gave him the motivation to be a top-class senior racer.
The 2010 FBD Insurance RÁS teams come from Germany, Belgium, Australia, Sweden, New Zealand, Austria, Japan, Spain, Britain, Wales, USA and the Isle of Man. Seventeen county teams join them in for thrilling, highly competitive eight days cycle racing around Ireland from Sunday 23 May to Sunday 30 May.
