Scenes from Hamlet will be re-enacted as part of a Revision Day for Leaving Cert English students hosted by IT Sligo Performing Arts students at The Dock in Carrick-on-Shannon next Friday, April 8th.
The revision workshop is designed to help students explore texts creatively; to discuss and share ideas; and to collaborate, plan and enact responses to prescribed texts.
Leaving Certificate participants will have the opportunity to explore the texts in depth and to engage in a learning forum with students from other schools. Along with scenes from Hamlet, they will also explore a selection of poems by WB Yeats, Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, Eavan Boland and Patrick Kavanagh.
Participating students will be placed in a group with six other leaving certificate students with a team of 3-4 facilitators. They will showcase their devised scenes or interpretations to the others groups in The Docks’ performance space.
The Revision Day will run from 9am to 4pm on April 8th and the cost for participants is €5. Booking is essential and the deadline is Monday, April 4th.
