IT Sligo marked it’s 2009/2010 GAA achievements at a special ceremony for players recently. IT Sligo President, Professor Terri Scott, presented medals to the two winning teams marking two hard fought wins on the Gaelic Football field. The Senior B Team and the Junior team both won the Higher Education Trophy in All Ireland Finals in their respective competitions. The Senior B team defeated Dublin City Univesity and Cork Institute of Technology in the semi-final and final of the Higher Education (HE) Senior B Championship in March and the Juniors won two in a row HE Championships defeating Waterford Institute of Technology and National University of Ireland Maynooth in the final stages in April.
Retiring IT Sligo lecturer and GAA club Chairman, Michael Breslin was given a special award in appreciation of his dedication and commitment to IT Sligo GAA Club.
