Lecturer elected President of the SAI

IT Sligo lecturer Dr. Liam Leonard was recently elected President of the Sociology Association of Ireland. 

Dr. Leonard is a lecturer in Sociology and Criminology with the Department of Humanities and is author of  a number of publications, including the recently published Sustainable Politics & the Crisis of the Peripheries.

Speaking after his nomination, Dr. Leonard welcomed all those involved in Sociology, Social research and the Social Sciences to get involved with the SAI: “Next year will see our 40th Annual Conference and we would like to have as broad a range of people involved with the SAI from across the island of Ireland. We also welcome Irish researchers working abroad, as well as all those who have an interest in Irish sociology”.
