Something very exciting and special is happening across Ireland this Saturday September 10th, 2016 for World Suicide Prevention Day.

Iconic landmarks and buildings throughout the island of Ireland are lighting up Orange to spread the message “It’s OK not to feel OK; and it’s absolutely OK to ask for help”.

In addition, thousands of people across the country will light an orange candle or lamp in their windows at 8pm on Saturday, September 10th, in unity, to share this positive and universal message

IT Sligo’s main building and iconic Salmon of Knowledge will be one of the buildings and landmarks which will be lit up in orange across Ireland.

This is part of Cycle Against Suicide’s new initiative called ‘Events Against Suicide’ where events will take place during Suicide Awareness Week, which continues until Sunday, September 11th.

In support of the Light Up Orange campaign, organisers are also encouraging people to Go Orange in any way they can, from painting front doors orange to wearing an orange hat, this Saturday, September 10th, World Suicide Prevention Day.
