A wide range of programmes are on offer from Level 6 Higher Certificate awards to Level 10 PhD doctorate awards. Many of our programmes provide professional accreditations, professional exam exemptions, additional external qualifications.

Dr Breda Mc Taggart
Head of School of Business & Social Sciences
Having qualified as a nurse, Breda worked in acute frontline healthcare for fifteen years. During this time, she completed a BA (Hons) in Business Studies, a BSc (Hons) Specialist Practice: Teaching, Learning & Management, an MSc (Hons) in Strategic Management a Doctorate in Educations.
In 2006 Breda began her lecturing career in Northern Ireland. She commenced her role as Head of the Department of Social Sciences, ATU Sligo (formerly IT Sligo), in 2014 and took over the post of Head of School of Business and Social Science in October 2021.
Breda has been a member of ATU Sligo`s Planning and Coordination Committee since 2013 and its Chair since 2018.
She is the Institute of Technology representative on the Qualifications Advisory Board (QAB) for the Early Learning and Care (ELC) Sector.
Breda is research active. Her current research activities are in the field of widening access within education systems, professionalism and leadership practices and inequity in Ireland over time.
