FishA conference entitled ‘Quality in Ireland 2012’ will be hosted by IT Sligo in The Clarion Hotel, Sligo on Friday, March 30th 2012.

This is the first all Ireland conference on Quality in recent memory and it is designed for people working or interested in all aspects of Quality in all sectors of the economy. Whether your organisation is compliance drivem, applying LEAN and/or Six Sigma or seeking continual improvement, this conference will be of interest to you.

IT Sligo has been delivering courses in quality for twenty five years, longer than any other higher education institute in Ireland. Lecturer in Quality, Dr Bob Kennedy, said that in times of recession, people always turn to quality; “In the boom times when there’s a push on productivity, people feel they are too busy to be concerned about quality processes and the discipline it imposes, but in times of recession people and organisations rightly become aware that quality provides a competitive advantage at little cost.”

Dr Kennedy said that it’s estimated that 25 per cent of profit in organisations is lost due to staff having to repeat tasks because of the lack of quality processes; “Ensuring that the right processes in place may involve an initial output by organisations, but if they consider what the lack of quality is costing them -the justification is very clear.”

The Quality in Ireland 2012 Conference will be held in The Clarion Hotel, Sligo from 9am to 4pm on Friday March, 30th. Conference fees range from €30 to €95. To register a place and for further information please visit http://qualityinireland2012.eventbrite.ie
