A Machine Learning Approach to Complications Identification and Risk Stratification System for Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus Patients

Faizan is a post grad student at IT Sligo. Faizan has worked as an AI Engineer intern at Cube Healthcare Pvt ltd, an American based company with its main office in Pakistan. He has a Masters of Electrical Engineering from COMSATS University Abbottabad, Pakistan with his research on Machine learning applications for medical images. Faizan has defended his thesis titled “Chest X-rays image segmentation using generative adversarial networks”. This paper has been published in IEEE access journal. He has have also worked on small projects on subject matters concerning face detection and face recognition.

Faizan obtained a bachelor’s of Electrical Computer Engineering from the same institute. His final year project, concentrated on Fire sensing and extinguishing robots using UV sensors. He also presented this final year project in a conference called “Frontiers of Information Technology in Islamabad”.

The project that he is working on at IT Sligo is “A Machine Learning Approach to Complications Identification and Risk Stratification System for Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus Patients” under the supervision of Dr. Konrad. The aim of this project is to apply machine learning techniques to patient data in order to learn different patterns and perform certain predictions that helps in the identification of risks associated with Type 1 Diabetes.
