Edel Costello is a lecturer in the Department of Environmental Science at ATU Sligo and is currently the Programme Chair for Occupational Safety and Health. She worked in a number of EHS roles in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector prior to lecturing, including environmental monitoring, occupational hygiene and waste management.
She has a keen interest in teaching and learning through enquiry based learning (EBL) and on creating strong links between the OSH programme and industry. She is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and a longstanding committee member of the Occupational Hygiene Society of Ireland, holding the position of Honorary President from 2013 to 2015.
