Lorraine Murphy lectures Business Law and Company Law in the School of Business and Social Sciences.  Prior to joining IT Sligo, she worked in general private practice as a Solicitor, having qualified in 2001 from the Law Society of Ireland.  She also worked part-time as a Tutor in the Law School of the Law Society of Ireland.

A graduate of NUIG (BA (1995) and post graduate LLB (1997)) and more recently Northumbria University (LLM in Advanced Legal Practice 2019 in association with the Law Society of Ireland), she is also a member of the Law Society of Ireland and previously the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Lorraine has acted as Programme Chair for the Bachelor or Business (Hons) Level 8 programme and is currently joint Programme Chair for the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Law and Business. She has a keen interest in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and has completed CPD courses including Diploma in Trust & Estate Planning, Certificate in Technology Law, Arts, Entertainment and Media Law and recently received her Universal Design for Learning (UDL) badge.
