Padraig is a Lecturer in Statistics and Information Technology in the Department of Health and Nutritional Sciences. He was worked in the Faculty of Science at IT Sligo since 2007 primarily lecturing in the area of Information Technology to first year students and statistics/data analysis to third and fourth year students across the faculties wide range of undergraduate courses. Padraig graduated in 1999 from Dublin Institute of Technology with a BSc (Hons) Applied Science (Computer Science and Software Development). Following graduation he worked for Datalex PLC across a number of engineering and team lead roles in the area of software quality assurance and software development. In 2004 he joined Sligo based start-up Nooked as Head of Product Development remaining in the role for 3 years prior to joining IT Sligo. He holds a MSc in Computing from the Open University in the UK which he completed in 2014. He has a keen interest in all things GAA related and managed the institutes Sigerson Cup team in 2017 and 2018. He is a qualified GAA coach tutor and has a keen research interest in coach education, coach development and coach mentoring. He is currently chairperson of the Connacht GAA Games Development committee and a member of GAA's National Games Development committee. He is also Chairperson of the Connacht GAA Higher Education Committee and a member of GAA's National Higher Education Committee. |
