Ruth Walsh is a lecturer in law in the School of Business and Social Sciences, at the Institute of Technology, Sligo and has worked in this capacity since 2007. Ruth tutors and lectures in the areas of  Business law, Employment law, EU law, Sport law, Family Law, Health and Safety Law and Family Law, on various courses within the School. 

Prior to working in academia she gained over fifteen years professional experience working as an associate solicitor in Weightmans Solicitors, England and A&L Goodbody Solicitors, Dublin and as a partner in a law firm in Sligo. She is a member of the Law Society of Ireland (2001) and the Law Society of England and Wales (1996). 

Ruth completed her postgraduate studies in University College Dublin (Diploma in Employment Law, 2002) and in the College of Law, Chester, England (Legal Practice Course, 1994). Her undergraduate studies were at University College Dublin (Bachelor of Commerce 1991) and Staffordshire University, England (Common Professional Examination 1992).
