Soccer Girls claim another title

IT Sligo clinched the Women’s Soccer Colleges Association of Ireland (WSCAI) Premier Division Shield with a 3-0 win over Waterford IT in Leixlip.

Goals from Aoife Brennan, Emma Hansberry and Amy Roddy secured a deserved victory for the Sligo girls against a well-organised Waterford side who had their moments, particularly from set-pieces.

This is the soccer club’s 21st trophy – a reflection of their prominence and success at national intervarsities level over the years.

The WSCAI is the organisation responsible for women’s soccer in all third level colleges in Ireland (North and South). Women’s soccer at third level in Ireland began competitively in 1983.
