John Gaynor, Programme Chair of the BA (Hons) Accounting at IT Sligo, said: “IT Sligo’s three year Level 8 BA (Hons) in Accounting is a fast track to a professional qualification. Importantly, intending students should be aware that you do not need to have previously studied accounting.

“Graduates from the course gain exemptions from professional accountancy body examinations, e.g. they are exempt from the Chartered Accountants Proficiency 1 (CAP 1) examination. That is a major benefit.

“Accounting is a global qualification which is internationally recognised and allows graduates to travel the world. An accounting qualification enables one to work in a variety of positions in a diverse range of organisations.”
